Tarot: four of wands
The wand cards in the tarot deck are symbolised by the element Fire and rule the zodiac signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. In classic Rider Waite Smith tarot decks, the card shows a party in Italian vintage type Verona. We have four rods with a garland of flowers, fruits and rosettes. At the top of each rod is a sprouting small twig with leaves. A symbol of new beginnings. In the background there are two people in beautiful clothes holding up bouquets of flowers, as if they are calling to the viewer of the card. Four of Wands symbolizes how the man we see in Two of Wands and Three of Wands has now landed in joy and security. Perhaps he has taken a boat over to another country and is met with a party. The card is about the foundation we all need for our well-being. To belong, community, to be wanted and appreciated, to have an identity and a role in a society. To live one's life with an open heart in social joy.
