In the Tarot deck, the Fool is card no. 0 in the Major Arcana, it is ruled by Uranus and symbolises the first steps of a new journey. The archetype exists within all of us and may be more or less visible in our lives at different times. This is the card of Aries.
The card usually shows a man about to hike off a cliff with a small dog, a white rose and a stick over his shoulder. He has a completely open heart (no Heart Wall). There is something incredibly spiritual about the man or woman, one has an absolutely pure Aura, wide open Crown Chakra and deep trust in the forces of the Universe. Come what may. In the background are mountains towering, or is it a bank of clouds or a tidal wave? We can assume that it is a mountain massif that stands safely there with its founding energy. The fool needs all the grounding he can get, no consequences are contemplated here. Even the white dog is worried about his potentially very short trip straight over the cliff that he doesn’t seem to see.
The fool is in love. In life itself and in the future woman who will receive his still white rose, which will transform and become a red rose when he has an object to direct all his love. We only see the red rose in the Major Arcana in three cards, The Magician, where the roses hang above (the object of desire is creation itself; what one desires to manifest). The high priest, where the red rose together with white lilies stand for passion and purity but again, to a higher power. The Strength card also has red roses around the woman’s waist.
The Red Rose in the Coin Suite:
Ace in coins – where the red roses form a rose arch / portal for those who want to follow the Coin’s path of manifestation in the physical.
Queen in coins – red roses above her; she is allied with the Magician who has the same scene.
King in coins – red roses on his crown. A symbol that he has now completed the entire Coin suite to perfection.
The red rose in the Wands suite:
Four in Wands – Flower Garlands.
The red rose in the Sword suite:
Nine of Swords – On the duvet of the man with anxiety. The red roses stand for the potential of life-passion which he misses but longs for.
The red rose in the Cups suite:
Two of Cups – the man’s crown.
The fool has a message
Depending entirely on which tarot cards are drawn around the fool, the card communicates differently.
The fool carries a gift. It is letting trust carry us through uncertainty. The fool does not know where the journey leads, he only knows that he is going forward. He is in a deep union with God and the Universe. This makes the Fool card very spiritual.
All cards have their gifts and they are here to help us become aware. We must become whole and free from inner conflicts. Not until we have accepted ourselves 100% have we mastered the lessons of life.
